![]() Android 5.0 Jelly Bean - Rumor or Reality:
If this is the case, that Android 5.0 will be released in the near future, manufacturers aren't taking it seriously for they are still playing catch up with Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Even though a few years have passed since Android 2.3 Gingerbread was release you still have smartphones being developed with this older version of Android. No one has really benefited from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich due to its slow incorporation by manufacturers. Features such as face recognition, unified contacts for your social networks, NFC information sharing, improved photography, application folders and offline email search have not served the Android masses. The Android 5.0 Jelly Bean Operating System is rumored to integrate with Windows 8. When the Android 5.0 OS is launched, it will be loaded on to five devices and sold directly from Google. These devices will be unlocked and contract free. Google is trying to end its fragmented approach when it comes to the way manufacturers are updating and creating smartphones that run the Android OS. With Android Jelly Bean, top manufacturers are bidding to be one of the remaining 3 slots available for the first 5 devices that will host the Android 5 Jelly Bean OS. The first Android 5.0 Jelly Bean tablet may come from a joint venture between Google and Asus. The Nexus tablet is expected to be released this summer running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, under $200 and may be developed by Asus. If rumors prove true we should see the new Android 5.0 Jelly Bean tablets at the end of the year and early 2013. There is also talk of the next Android OS after Android Jelly Bean labeled at the moment Key Lime Pie. For now we are waiting to see what Android will bring in the summer and what manufacturers and developers are going to offer. | ||
