Apple iOS 5 Features:
Unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and available this Fall of 2011, the Apple iOS 5 has over 200 hundred new features. Find out the latest improvements found in the Apple ios 5 and how it adds more to the already popular Apple iOS 4.3. Notification Center, Reminders and Calendar
Notification Center lets you have all of your notifications in one place and instantly access it by swiping down from the top of any screen. See notifications as they arrive at the top of your screen as they momentarily appear without disturbing you.
Reminders keep your to do lists ready to help you complete your tasks with due dates and locations. Reminders can be used with iCal, iCloud and Outlook. Be alerted when you reach your destination and never forget what it is you have to do and where you have to do it.
Calendar now features yearly view (on the iPad) and weekly view (on iPhone / iPod Touch). You can share calendars with iCloud and sync your events amongst all of your devices.
iMessage, Twitter, Mail and Safari
iMessage is a new iOS 5 only messaging service that lets you send unlimited text, videos, pictures, contacts and location messages through 3G connectivity or Wi-Fi to any of your pals that own an iPad, iPod touch or an iPhone. Features of iMessage include group messaging, message tracking (delivery and read receipts) and message encryption.
Twitter has been fully integrated into the Apple iOS 5 and its even faster to tweet. All you have to do is Log in once and you have instant tweeting from applications such as Maps, YouTube, Safari, Camera, photos and more.
Mail can be used with a free email account from iCloud where you can receive all of your mail from all of your devices. You can now format (bold / italic / underline / indent) messages, flag messages, add and delete folders in your mailbox and search the body of your messages.
Safari Reader is a new ios 5 feature that filters out distracting ads from web articles providing clutter-free web reading. You can make reading lists and continue reading your articles at a later time. iCloud lets you access your lists from other devices. Have tabbed browsing on the iPad and tap to switch between your favorite sites.
Newsstand places all of your digital subscriptions in one area and automatically updates new issues when available. The App Store now has a dedicated section just for your newspapers and magazines.
Camera and Photos
The camera can now be launched from the Lock screen and features dedicated key (volume up), pinch-to-zoom, exposure lock, grid lines and single tap focus. With Photo Stream and iCloud you can send your photos to all of your devices. You can now edit (crop / enhance / rotate) your photos and remove red eye. Send your pictures to your other devices such as your iPad and put finishing touches on your images before posting to your social networks.
If the above features are not enough to make you impatient for the Apple ios 5 release, here are more highlights of this latest ios upgrade. Game Center lets you load a picture for your profile, you have Wi-Fi sync (no more connecting to your computer), multitasking bar and gestures, AirPlay Mirroring (iPad 2) lets you view your Apple iPad 2 on your HDTV with Apple TV and iCloud integration.
