Apple iTunes 11 - December 1, 2012:
More than a free music player, Apple iTunes 11 has a simpler user interface. Redesigned to help you easily find the entertainment you're searching for. Select the Library in the upper right side and then on the upper left use the drop down menu to access your Music, Movies, TV Shows, iTunes U, Books, Apps and Home Sharing. This music downloader provides access to the iTunes store where you can quickly grow your media collection.
In the Library, under the Music category, you can select from Songs view, Album view, Artists, Genres, Playlists, Radio and Match. In the Album view, when you click on an album the new expanded view displays that album's content. Clicking again on the selected album closes the expanded view. You can listen to your music while browsing the iTunes store. The iTunes Library keeps all of your bought songs and imported music organized making it easy to create playlists. Rate your music from 1 to 5 stars and find your favorite songs by ratings. You can use Genius to create genre based playlists.
iTunes Match takes your music library and stores it in iCloud. All of your songs that are available in the iTunes store will be found in iCloud and any songs that are not available will be uploaded. When a song is of lower quality, the matched version (if available) will be of a higher quality. When listening to music, there is a new drop down menu called Up Next, located to the right of the player, it lists the next songs to be played. In the iTunes Store you can view the history of previewed songs, movies and TV shows with the Preview History drop-down list. This makes it easy for you to find a song, movie or TV show that you may like to purchase.
Now you can use a MiniPlayer version of the iTunes Player. With the MiniPlayer you can control music playback, search for songs, use AirPlay and view the Up Next list. You now have better iCloud integration. Have access to your purchased movies, TV shows and songs on all of your devices. You can download them to your MAC or PC notebook for offline viewing and listening. Another great feature is the ability to pause content on one device and continue to view or listen to it from another device at the moment you had paused it.
When you purchase Music you can complete albums without the need to buy it in its entirety. Songs already purchased are deducted when completing a music album. There are over 26 million DRM free songs available. As for movies you can view over 45,000 titles and watch them your HDTV with Apple TV. Just like music albums, you can complete a season of your favorite TV shows. There are over 190,000 TV shows available. The App Store has 700,000 plus apps and games. There are more than 1.5 million Books for you to read. Listen to Podcasts (225,000 available) or take a course with iTunes U.
