Are Cell Phones Killing Bees? New York May 13th 2011, by 1800mobiles Editors:
You may have heard about the worldwide phenomenon regarding the ongoing disappearance of honey bees. As they are essential for the pollination of anything from flowers to crops necessary for the world supply food sustainability, this is a big deal. A recent study conducted by Daniel Favre, a former biologist with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland, suggests a direct link between the electromagnetic waves emitted by cell phones and the displacement of bees.

Favre says: “The results of the present pilot study clearly show that the presence of actively communicating mobile phone handsets in the close vicinity of honeybees had a dramatic effect,”. He continues, “Honeybees are sensitive to pulsed electromagnetic fields generated by the mobile telephones.” His findings suggest that mobile phones' signals confuse bees forcing them to leave the hive and not return.
