Welcome BackPack, the latest innovation in personal organizers, now going mobile !
With life becoming more hectic and fast paced, the market has seen a proliferation of personal organizers and related devices. More often that not, new applications are 'captive' to particular hardware such as Palms, Treos and the like or to particular software, typically within email accounts. To some, this is a turnoff not only as it requires expensive hardware as in the case of PDAs, but also because it lacks personalization and integration with friends, family and associates as well as basic hosting capacity.
BackPackIt has solved all this by creating an 'open-end' online organizer that can be at the cross-road of your mobile devices, PCs, digital camera and even your regular phone. How so ? Here some examples: you can use BackPackIt to send SMS/Email reminders to your cell phone and PC. Or,you can send pictures from your camera phone to your BackPack for posting and sharing.
In fact perhaps the niftiest of Backpacks applications is that it allows users to create their own web pages (hosted at user.backpack.com/page) with everything from a to-do list to a family photo album to a personal blog. Recently BackPack created a 'mobile version' of its organizer so it can be viewed from your cell phone's microbrowser !
What's next ? BackPack is working on a solution to allow users dial in and leave a voice mail in MP3 format for themeselves (or others) to listen upon request ...
