With the announcement of the Blackberry 10 OS and the Blackberry Z10 (the first Blackberry 10 OS Smartphone), Research In Motion (RIM) also has changed its name to BlackBerry. The BlackBerry Z10 will be available in March 2013 through Verizon and it is still unknown if other carriers will offer it. The Blackberry 10 Operating System is gesture based and has no soft keys or buttons to press. You will not find the physical QWERTY keyboard found on previous Blackberry Models. The new on-screen Blackberry Touch screen keyboard adapts to you as you compose and automatically corrects text entry errors. BlackBerry flow lets you navigate in a entirely new way.

The Blackberry Z10 has a 4.2-inch 1280 x 768 resolution 356 pixel per inch touchscreen with 15:9 aspect ratio and 24-bit color and runs on a 1.5 GHz Dual-Core processor with 2GB RAM. It connects at 4G LTE and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and can be used as a 4G Mobile Hotspot. The Blackberry Z10 measures 5.12 in (H) x 2.58 in (W) x 0.35 in (D) and weighs 4.85 ounces. The 1800 mAH battery provides 10 hours of talk time on 3G with 312 hours of standby time. Also, find Bluetooth version 4.0 Low Energy (LE) and NFC wireless connectivity. The rear facing 8 megapixel camera can capture 1080p HD video, has autofocus, continuous focus and touch to focus, 5x digital zoom, image and video stabilization. On the front you'll find a 2 megapixel camera that also functions as a 720p HD camcorder for BBM Video with Screen Share and features 3x digital zoom and image and video stabilization. With the Micro-HDMI port you can connect to your HDTV. The Blackberry Z10 has a 16GB internal memory and supports microSDXC cards up to 64GB. Also, available is access to your Dropbox with BlackBerry Connect for Dropbox.

With the Blackberry Z10 and the Blackberry 10 OS, you have all of your favorite Blackberry apps as well as some new ones. Preloaded applications include BBM, Social Networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare), BlackBerry Hub (unified messaging area), BlackBerry World (purchase apps, games and more), GPS, BlackBerry Maps, Documents To Go (read, create and edit MS Word and Excel files and view PowerPoint presentations), Adobe Reader, YouTube, Voice Control, Contacts, BlackBerry Calendar, BlackBerry Remember, Camera with TimeShift Mode, Story Maker (movie creation app), music and video player, video editing and more. You can have multiple profiles with BlackBerry Balance and switch amongst your personal and professional settings. The BlackBerry Link application helps you manage all of your media (music, videos, photos and data) with your computer. Accessibility features include customizable screen brightness, sizable fonts, TTY support, and BlackBerry Magnify.
