The Best of Consumer Electronics Show 2013 includes Samsung's UN85S9 Ultra HDTV. This Ultra High Definition LED 85-inch 4k TV will be available sometime in Spring 2013 and features LED backlighting, voice command control from its remote and an integrated camera for Skype. The Samsung UN85S9 won CNET Best of CES 2013 for its tilting screen design and LED Backlighting.
For gamers, CES 2013 introduced the Razr Edge tablet PC Game console. The Razr Edge tablet PC Game console is a Windows 8 tablet powered by either an Intel Core i5 (also configured with an Intel Core i7) processor, Nvidia GeForce Graphics and has accessories to provide it functionality as for either a handheld gaming or the capability of console connected to your TV via HDMI or USB with its dock and 720p output. There is a keyboard that can be connected. Other accessories include controllers similar to the controllers of the Xbox 360 and controllers that resemble Sony Playstation 3 Navigation stick controllers that connect to the sides of the Razr Edge tablet PC game console. The i5 version will have a price tag around $1,000 and is equipped with 64GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. The i7 version will cost around $1,300 and may have the option of either 128GB or 256GB solid state drive with 8Gigs of RAM.
A new concept for a smartphone that was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 was the YotaPhone that combines the power of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean smartphone with a 4.3-inch LCD HD touch screen and an E-ink display on the back. The E-ink screen mirrors the front touch screen for battery conservation and it also has dedicated apps. There is also a 12 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p HD video recording and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera with 720p HD video capture. The curved E-ink screen is made with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the bottom of both sides of the YotaPhone is the gesture area that provides swiping navigation between screens (half swipe, full swipe). It runs on a 1.5 Dual-Core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and there will be two version equipped with 32GB of memory and another with 64GB of memory. There is no microSDHC card support. The YotaPhone may be released mid 2013, Currently it is still being developed and specs may change.
It seems that curved touch screens are going to be the next big thing when it comes to smartphone design and Corning has begun developing this bendable glass called Willow Glass. Unlike Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that is already on the YotaPhone and keeps the touch screen protected, Willow Glass is an inside layer that improves touch response.
Lenovo Horizon Tablet PC is a 27-inch multitouch Windows 8 Table PC with Lenovo's Aura multiuser interface. Aura features an application control wheel that lets you easily open programs. You can remove and drag applications from the wheel and pin them for use as shortcuts. The Lenovo Horizon Tablet PC includes capacitive air hockey paddles and joysticks. There is also 6 sided die. The Lenovo Horizon Tablet PC has a 1.1-inch profile is expected to cost $1,000 with an i3 core processor, i5 core and i7 core processor versions will also be available.
