Google Android Tablets - April 2012 Edition - Lenovo Tablet and Toshiba Tablet
Looking for the right Google Android Tablet? Wonder what is the best Android Tablet? Here I'll go over some of the available and upcoming Android Tablets. Let's start out with a Lenovo Tablet. Lenovo has the Thinkpad Tablet available with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory with the option of 3G connectivity. All have Wi-Fi connectivity, a 10.1-inch Multitouch screen and running on NVIDIA Tegra 2 graphics and a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor.
The Thinkpad Tablet is powered by Android 3.1 Honeycomb. It has a 3-in-1 multicard reader for SD, SDHC and MMC. You can encrypt your data on your SD cards. There is also one USB 2.0 port and a mini-HDMI out port. You can use the ThinkPad Tablet Pen with this Lenovo Tablet. The ThinkPad Tablet Pen lets you hover, long press and has pressure modes. The Thinkpad Tablet is a Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR tablet and has GPS capabilities.
The ThinkPad Lenovo Tablet has a fixed focus 2.0 megapixel camera on the front and an auto focus 5.0 megapixel camera on the back that captures 720p video. It is loaded with applications. It has a front facing 0.3 megapixel camera and a rear facing 3.0 megapixel camera with 480p video capture. The IdeaPad is available either with 2GB or 16GB internal memory and supports microSD cards for more memory. You can connect via Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and GPS. You can get it for $199.
Another available Google Android Tablet is the Toshiba Tablet. Toshiba offers the Excite Tablets and the Thrive Tablets. To see if a Toshiba Tablet is right for you, lets dig a little bit deeper into the specifications. The Excite Toshiba Tablet has a 10.1 inch high-res 1280 x 800 LED backlit touch screen and is available with either 16GB or 32GB, both run on the Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and are upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The TI OMAP 4430 Dual-Core Processor and 1GB LP-DDR2 RAM take care of your apps.
You can connect via Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth version 2.1. It is also DLNA-compatible and has a micro-HDMI port. This Toshiba Tablet has a 2 megapixel HD webcam with microphone and a 5 megapixel camera that features LED Flash, auto-focus, digital zoom and 1080p video recording.
Other highlights include a microSD card slot, 3.5mm strereo headphone jack, docking connector and loaded with applications.

The Thrive Toshiba Tablet is available in two sizes. There is the 7-inch Thrive Toshiba Tablet with 16GB and 32GB internal memory and the 10-inch version also available with 16GB and 32GB internal memory. You can also get the 16GB 10-inch Thrive Toshiba Tablet with 4G connectivity. Both run on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core Processor and Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The same apps found on the Excite Toshiba Tablet are also included in the Thrive Toshiba Tablet.
The latest Toshiba Tablet, the 13-inch Excite Toshiba Tablet runs on Android 4.0 and is 0.4 inches thin. It will be powered by the quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and have 1GB of RAM. It sports a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera. This Toshiba Tablet is equipped with 4 speakers located on the back of the tablet. It will be available in June 2012 in two versions. One 32GB internal memory and one with 64GB of internal memory.
