Let's start from the plans by explaining how easy they are for consumers:
You have 2 choices. GoPhone Pay As You Go Mobile or GoPhone Pick Your Plan.
1. GoPhone Pay as you go Mobile Plan:
The first plan enables one only to pay for used minute, pay as you go. You can buy airtime minutes online 24/7 (www.cingular.com/myaccount/prepaid) or by purchasing GoPhone airtime cards (a $10 card comes with the phone).
There are 2 Payasyougo options and these are the costs:
a) Payasyougo, Unlimited Mobile to Mobile:
10 cents per minute (any minute used gets deducted from your purchased airtime automatically)
$1 access fee on days you use the phone. This plan makes a lot of sense if you are using it just for emergencies as you pay nothing if the phone sits in your car glove box.
Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Calling to 55 million Cingular customers. This enables you to call family members as long as they are either prepaid or post paid Cingular customers.
b) Payasyougo, Simple Plan:
25 cents per minute (deducted from your purchased airtime) day or night.
Both options include: Caller ID, Basic Voice Mail, Call Waiting, Nationwide Long Distance (when calling from you home area), International Calling, Pay as you use Text messaging and Media Web Net Browsing.
1. GoPhone Pick Your Plan: This plan allows you to choose the plan that fits you most and set up monthly automatic payments with your debit, credit card or directly from your checking account. Funds are deducted from your balance as you use airtime or other features like text messaging. If you need to increase your balance, you can add more funds to your plan as you will always pay the same per minutes fees as per picked plan. This eliminates overcharges at higher per minute rates.
Being a Cingular plan, you also get Rollover minutes, which are unused minutes which get carried over for use in future months. There are 4 options associated with this plan:
$29.99/month: up to 200 minutes ($0.15 per minute).
$39.99/month: up to 300 minutes per month ($0.133 per minute) + 1000 night & weekend minutes
$49.99/month: up to 400 minutes per month ($0.125 per minute) + Unlimited night & weekend minutes
$69.99/month: up to 650 minutes per month ($0.108 per minute) + Unlimited night & weekend minutes + Unlimited Calling to 55 million Cingular Customers
All 4 options above include: Caller ID, Basic Voice Mail, Call Waiting, Nationwide Long Distance (when calling from you home area), International Calling, Pay as you use Text messaging and Media Web Net Browsing.
