Initial Charge is extremely important for a brand new laptop battery. Most new laptop batteries are lith ion, which do not present a memory effect, but do require full charge and discharge for the first 3-5 times. Not following this tip may compromise the life span of your laptop battery as the battery will charge to the memorized level of the last charge/discharge.
