TOUCH SCREEN, QWERTY, TRACKBALL AND THE WEB
The T-Mobile G1 by HTC is the first touch screen phone powered by the Google Android operating system. One touch Google search lets you access a wealth of information with a single tap. Touch a phone number from a webpage and the HTC G1 T-Mobile Phone instantly dials.

Navigate with your fingertips (touch / tap / swipe) and browse the web in HTML. In addition to the touch screen navigation, the T-Mobile G1 features a trackball and slide out QWERTY keyboard for your messaging. Respond with ease and stay in the loop.
The T-Mobile G1 lets you browse at super fast 3G speed and can connect via Wi-Fi. It is also compatible with the 2G network and EDGE network. You can visit your favorite websites in real HTML (Webkit based browser), watch YouTube, read your email (Gmail / IMAP / POP3), send an Instant Message (AIM / Gtalk / MSN) and chat with your buddies (GoogleTalk).
Stay organized with Google Calendar and purchase music from the Amazon MP3 Store. Download applications, games and shop from the Android Market. The 18 bit, 320 x 480 color screen provides a vivid view.
HOW TO ADD AN EMAIL ACCOUNT:
With the HTC G1 you can manage up to 5 POP3 and IMAP email accounts. To set an email account Press Home > Email Application and the Set up new account screen displays. Type your email address and password. Check the "Send Email from this account by default" option if you plan to manage more than one POP3 or IMAP email account.
Select Next. If you set up a popular email account the settings will be automatically created. If you have an account that the HTC G1 does not have the settings then you will have to enter via prompts the email server, protocol and information requested. After you have setup your accounts select Next to display your Inbox. To add another account, press Menu and select ADD.
ACCESSING YouTube
To watch videos press Home > YouTube Icon. Select a category and then choose a video to play. Enjoy video streaming with this free online service.
MUSIC AND MICROSDHC CARDS
Enjoy your music. The T-Mobile G1 supports MP3 / M4A (AAC / DMR-free) / WMA / OGG / AMR / MIDI / WAV digital audio formats. Your music library is organized under Playlists, Artists, Albums and Songs categories. Album Art lets you quickly identify your favorite albums for playback. Store all of your favorite tunes on microSD cards and take your media with you.
HOW TO CREATE A PLAYLIST
You can create an unlimited amount of playlists. At the Library select a category and touch and hold either the artist, album, or song to display the context menu. Select Add to playlist to open the Add to playlist menu. Select either New for a new playlist or Select an existing playlist to add to. You can easily manage your playlist and import M3U, PLS and WPL playlist formats.
HOW TO CREATE RINGTONES FROM SONGS
Set your favorite song as a ringtone. From the Library select the song you desire. Touch and Hold the song to display the context menu and select "Use as phone ringtone". The ringtone is now your default ringtone for incoming calls. When you Navigate to Home > Settings > Sound & Display and select phone ringtone, the newly added ringtone is available.

GPS AND GOOGLE MAPS

The T-Mobile G1 allows you to select from four different views, Map view, Satellite view, Traffic view and Google Street view. Map view displays names of streets, Satellite view provides imagery (not in real-time), Traffic view displays color coded current traffic conditions and Street view provides a street level view (not in real-time).
3.0 MP CAMERA AND PICTURE MESSAGING
In order to take pictures the HTC G1 requires that an expandable memory card is inserted. All images are stored on microSD cards. Image resolutions of 2048 x 1536 clearly preserve your memories. To open camera mode either press the Capture button or select the camera icon from the Home screen. Select to save your photograph, share, set as picture caller ID icon or wallpaper, or delete the image. View your pictures by selecting the Pictures icon from the home screen. Here your photos are displayed in thumbnail view. Simply touch the picture to open in full screen.
If you select to share your photo, when you have the image displayed in full screen mode select Menu > Share. Share using Google Mail, MMS or another loaded application. Compose and select Send. You can crop and rotate images as well as play a slideshow. Sort pictures by date, set slideshow intervals and share your life.
BLUETOOTH, GOOGLE CALENDAR AND ANDROID MARKET
The T-Mobile G1 is a Bluetooth version 2.0 device and supports Bluetooth headset and hands-free. Operate hands-free with a Bluetooth headset and Bluetooth car kit. Bluetooth A2DP stereo headsets and speakers are not compatible with the HTC G1.
For an instant handsfree solution the HTC G1 features a Voice Dialer and integrated speakerphone. Use voice dialing with a Bluetooth headset and continue working. Additionally, you can make calls with the virtual numeric keypad. Set your picture caller IDs and ringtones for easy identification. Stay on schedule with Google Calendar and view events and appointments through Month, Agenda, Week, and Day screen layouts.
