Verizon Wireless LG enV Cell Phone Review (VX9900)
Verizon Wireless LG enV Cell Phone Review:
The LG enV VX9900 is a high-end multimedia messaging mobile phone pumped up with a whole lot of features including a QWERTY keyboard for the communicator aficionados. Though slightly boxy compared to its peer models, the phone packs quite a punch when it comes to features like the 2 Mega pixel camera, stereo speakers, Bluetooth capabilities, a microSD memory expansion slot, V CAST MUSIC AND VIDEO function which will sound great on the phone’s high-quality stereo speakers.
The QWERTY keyboard does give a phone an “almost like a laptop” functionality and the keys are back-lit and spread out on the key pad. The keys have been designed for instinctive use and are comfortable for gizmo users. The average form rounded edges can be easily overlooked once the features inside of the phone are known. The speakers are one of the best available in the market and have good clarity, be it voice calls or music applications. The music player supports WMA and MP3 files and the phone can work in a “Music Only Mode” customized for airline travel.
The 2 MP camera takes quite a few good shots and the phone’s shape mimics a real camera which makes it user friendly. The camera’s external display acts as a view finder and most of camera controls can be operated with the flip of the phone closed. The EV-DO high-speed internet connections worked very well with the online applications and there were very few complaints in that area.
Overall, this Verizon Wireless Cell Phone whose impressive features overrule its average looks to make the phone worth every penny. This cell phone may be one of the most important phones to come out of the LG and VERIZON stable.

Whenever a Bluetooth device is connected on to the phone, there is an option which pops-up in the menu during the calls which says USE BLUETOOTH / USE PHONE. When the USE BLUETOOTH option is chosen, the sound comes in from the Bluetooth device and there is an indication of the Bluetooth device being in use by an icon on the display screen. When the USE PHONE option is chosen, the phone icon is shown in the centre key indicating that the handset is the device from where is sound comes during a call.
In the middle of a call, the LG enV allows a use to transfer audio clips by selecting OK to the SWITCH option and selecting OK again for reconfirmation.
The following options are available with the paired devices:
For devices supporting the OBEX profiles:
- REMOVE DEVICE allows a user to remove the device from the list of paired devices
- RENAME DEVICE lets a user rename the device that is being paired
- INCOMING SECURITY allows to set up the permissions before an incoming device can be paired with the enV

While pairing any device with the LG enV, the paired device can be connected and disconnected using the OK key under the signal of the Blue arrow on the display screen.
Also, while one audio device is already connected to the enV handset if another audio device is chosen from a list and OK is pressed, the audio will move from to the new device.
Selecting the SUPPORTED PROFILES options under the OPTIONS submenu of the main MENU of the handset allows a user to see the different profiles that enV supports.
When any Bluetooth device paired and connected to the LG enV happens to disconnect for any abnormal reason, the default option is that it tries to reconnect automatically. But if the Bluetooth audio device is not stable then the entire process of reconnecting it from the list of paired devices should be performed. Similarly, the car kit option of a Bluetooth device connects automatically to the handset and cannot be paired from the list of paired devices.
