Motorola Droid Pro Release
New York, Oct 06 2010; by 1800Mobiles Editorial Team:
Today Motorola and Verizon jointly announced the arrival of the new Motorola Droid Pro as well an the Motorola Citrus. We are particularly interested in the Pro as it signals Motorola's intention to finally compete with Blackberry keyboard-ready smart-phones.
Unlike most Verizon phones this one is a Tri-Band UMTS phone that can work on more than 200 countries by being both CDMA and GSM networks-enabled.
Will this phone kill Blackberries? Too soon to tell; what we know so far is that the new Verizon Droid Pro will carry a full qwerty keyboard and a 3.1-inch touch screen. However first impressions point to a long road for Motorola to erode Blackberry's loyal consumers.
Without a doubt this phone has the business clients in mind. It features full-on Exchange e-mail, calendar and contact support, as well as enterprise-level security features and a pre-installed Quick-office mobile suite.
It sports a 1GHz processor and a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash. The Motorola Droid Pro comes with 2GB of internal storage but can be expanded with SD memory cards.
The official release date is not set yet, but is expected around end of Oct. or beginning of Nov. 2010. No price is set as of yet by Verizon Wireless, nor 1800mobiles.
