Motorola PEBL T-Mobile Phone

In reviewing the new Motorola PEBL phone we could speak about its trendy oval shape and its fingerprints-proof coating or even the 1 touch gliding opening of its shell; but that's what everybody does. We prefer to use this page to guide you through the little tricks and tips you may only find after weeks of using this phone. Before we give you tools to start using your PEBL like a pro, let's go over a few features which set it apart from a lot of standard looking phones.
It is a Quad Band phone allowing for its use in more than 150 countries. These are the frequencies where it will work with: GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900. The Motorola PEBL is offered in the United States with service by T-Mobile, but you can also find the Motorola PEBL Unlocked. Although it weighs more than you would expect form a phone of its size, the PEBL still weighs 3.88, still less than its big brother Motorola Razr V3 weighing at 4.23 oz.
Many of our registered viewers ask if this phone shows the caller ID as they see the digital clock on the outside. Yes it does; it won't be in color nor the largest caller ID you'll ever see, but it still does show who's calling you.
A little comparison for those undecided on the RAZR vs PEBL challenge. Is it true that it is thineer than the Razr? Yes, 0.17" thinner to be exact. Does its battery last less than the Razr? No, actually it has 215 more minutes of talk time. So why are people going crazy for the Razor? Honestly we haven't figure that one out yet. Both phones feature a VGA quality digital camera and MPEG4 video capture. Both are bluetooth. Both showcase 1000 contacts and 5MB of buil-in memory. The PEBL's internal screen, however, has 262,000 colors vs the 65,000 of the V3 Razr. This phone is clearly a more advanced phone if you consider it also has advanced voice recognition and Screen3 technology which allows for weather reports, customized news and more. It probably comes down to which look fits you most. We believe this phone has been targeted to a sophisticated female audience, even if this phone is becoming very popular with the always look-seeking youth market.
Why is it called PEBL? Other than the obvious shape, Motorola covered the any metal part with a special pain coat which gives it the feel of a beach pebl stone to your hand.
Now let's take a look at the features and tips that will help you operate this revolutionary phone quicker and better:
How to take pictures and send them to your friends:
Press the menu button (located at the center top of your Pebl, see picture below). With the outer shell of the phone looking at your picture subject, press the "capture" key and the photo will be taken.
You will be prompted to either store or discard the picture. By pressing the 2 commands shown at the bottom of your internal screen you will be able to chose the desired action.
If you discard, you will be able to take another photo. Once you are ready to hit "store" command, your options will be of "Send in Message," "Store Only," "Apply as Wallpaper," "Apply As Screen Saver," "Apply as PhoneBook Entry" and "Print and Store". By selecting send in message, you will be prompted to chose from your contacts the person you want to send the picture to. I know what you are wondering about. How can I print it? Well, your phone is Bluetooth and if your printer has a Bluetooth adapter, then once your Pebl will be paired to the printer, hitting "Print and Store" means your picture will be printed, wirelessly. Note: Make sure you chose from a recognized printer name in your "printers" menu. If not, search into "look for devices" to search the bluetooth printer to which you want to send your print to.
How to Set your phone's password:
Unless your network changed it, usually the four digit code is originally set as 1234, while the six digits secutity code is set as 000000. To change your SIM Pin: Press on the menu butto, then Settings, Security and finally New Password.
How to activate the speakerphone:
This is one of the easiest tips, but a lot of people ask us about it. During a phone call, you will notice the word "speaker" on the screen. Press on the key below and the speaker will be turned on. Press it again and it will go off.
Attention: closing the flip doesn't necessarily end the call if the speakerphone is still on...Careful with this one. Also the speakerphone won't work if a headset or a car kit is plugged to the phone.
How to Make an International Call:
First, your carrier needs to approve you for that service. Therefore, we advise to call your wireless company first to activate that feature. Then, hold the "0" key down until the symbol "+" appears on your screen. Then dial the country code, then the city code and the number: i.e. +39-06-5555555.
How to Use Voice Dialing:
First you need to record the name and assign it to your contact list. This is how: When creating a new entry in your phonebook, highlight "Voice Name" from the list available. Then press the "Record" key. Press and release the voice command and say the name into your phone mic (2 seconds to say the name). When prmpted do repeat this step one more time.
After a voice name is recorded in you phonebook, press and release the voice key, and say the name of the person you are calling (also in 2 seconds).
