The features that a L7 can truly boast of is a VGA camera, video recorder, a microSD memory card slot and a music player with superlative music capabilities. Currently the L7 GSM is available with Cingular Service.

How to take and send pictures using a MOTOROLA SLVR L7?

1. Select main menu by using the centre of the circular navigation button or the Main menu soft key below the display screen
2. Select the MULTIMEDIA option among the menu options
3. Once in MULTIMEDIA, select the CAMERA option
4. A shortcut option is the CAMERA hotkey in the middle of the right side of the phone
5. Once the CAMERA is activated, the screen will consist of the PHOTO VIEWFINDER which shows the capture area of the picture to be taken.
6. Below the PHOTO VIEWFINDER, there will an indication of number pictures that can be taken (E.g. 414 REMAINING = There is memory space to capture 414 more pictures)
7. On the left bottom corner of the screen, you will see a circular navigation soft key which indicates INCREASE and DECREASE BRIGHTNESS on the left and right and INCREASE and DECREASE ZOOM on the top and bottom.
8. Once the brightness and Zoom is adjusted, capture the picture using the CAPTURE key
9. Once captured, you have option to either DISCARD or STORE the picture
10. If you decide to STORE the picture, you will have a variety of options to work with the picture like STORE ONLY, SEND IN MESSAGE, APPLY AS WALLPAPER or APPLY AS SCREENSAVER
11. While in PHOTO VIEWFINDER, Pressing the Main menu soft key will give you options like GO TO PICTURES - which will lead you to the photo gallery, SWITCH STORAGE DEVICE - which helps to toggle between phone memory and card memory and PICTURE SETUP - which help you modify the settings of the photo


How to record video using a MOTOSLVR L7?


Recording a Video on the MOTOSLVR is very similar to taking photos.
1. Once you get into the menu as mentioned above, select the MULTIMEDIA option and scroll down to the VIDEO CAMERA option 2. This will lead you to the VIDEO VIEWFINDER which will be similar to the PHOTOVIEWFINDER and will indicate the number of videos that can be taken
3. Also, the video can be zoomed upto 4X by pressing the top and bottom of circular navigation soft key
4. You can start recording the video by pointing at the object and pressing CAPTURE and end the recording by pressing STOP.
5. Once you CAPTURE the video, you have option of either STORE ONLY the video or SEND IN MESSAGE
6. While in VIDEO FINDER, selecting the main menu soft key will lead to options like GO TO VIDEOS - which will lead you to the video gallery in the phone, VIDEOS SETUP - where you can choose the VIDEO LENGTH to MMS or choose MAXIMUM depending on your preferences.


How to use the Digital audio player in the MOTOROLA L7?


1. Activate the DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER option in the GAMES & APPS menu to play songs on the MOTOSLVR
2. Once inside the player, choose the up and down keys of the circular navigation to choose among the following options

PLAYLIST - helps you to create and modify a playlist of songs
ARTISTS - helps you to play songs of a particular artist
ALBUMS - helps you to play songs from a particular album stores in the phone
SONGS - helps you select and play a particular song on the phone
GENRES - helps you to play a particular genre of music
HELPS - shows instructions on using the audio player
ABOUT - shows the version of the audio player

3. If you are someone who wants music on the move, you can create a shortcut for the DIGITAL AUDIO PLAYER by choosing the option from the menu and holding down the Main menu soft key below the display screen
4. MP3 files having bitrate of more than 192 Kbps cannot be played on the SLVR and even if uploaded the phone will show an error or will prompt you to remove the file.

How to view data on a memory card in a MOTOROLA MOTO SLVR?

1. To install a memory card on to the phone, push the card into the slot on the right side of the phone till it falls in place (indicated by a click)
2. To display and modify information regarding the card, select the SETTINGS option in the main menu of the phone and scroll down to PHONE STATUS option and choose STORAGE DEVICES
3. Once in STORAGE DEVICES, highlight MEMORY CARD option and press the main menu soft key to RENAME or FORMAT the card
4. Press MEMORY CARD to see details of used and available space on the card 5. To see PICTURES or SOUNDS stored on the card, choose the respective option from the MULTIMEDIA menu and select the Main menu soft key. Once you see the files, pressing the same key again can be used to switch to PHONE MEMORY.

How to add files to a MEMORY CARD from a computer?

1. Scroll down to the CONNECTIVITY option in SETTINGS and once in CONNECTIVITY, choose USB SETTINGS to change the connection to MEMORY CARD.
2. This will allow the USB connection to read your MEMORY CARD
3. The other option DATA/FAX CONNECTION is to use you phone for DATA FAX calls 4. Now connect the MOTOROLA USB cable from the accessory pot of the phone to any available USB port on the computer.
5. Once the computer recognizes the phone, it will create a removable disk of the memory card which can be viewed by accessing the MY COMPUTER window on the PC.
6. To add and files on to the memory card, COPY and PASTE files from the computer to the various section on the card which can viewed by clicking the removable disk icon.
7. So MP3 files can be copied to the AUDIO folder, SCREENSAVERS and WALLPAPERS to the PICTURES folder and VIDEO CLIPS to the VIDEOS folder
8. Once finished adding files, choose the SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE option from the system tray of the PC screen and STOP the USB MASS STORAGE DEVICES

How to use Bluetooth in a MOTOROLA MOTOSLVR L7?

The Bluetooth technology in the MOTOSLVR can help the phone to communicate with a computer, a Bluetooth handset or a car kit wirelessly to exchange files and help synchronization between these devices.
1. The phone needs to be paired before it can exchange information with any device
2. The Bluetooth Power has to be switched on to initiate pairing with any device (The phone can be paired only with one device at a time)
3. This can be done by setting POWER to ON in the SETUP option of BLUETOOTH LINK in the main menu
4. You can look for devices in the range of the phone by selecting LOOK FOR DEVICES in the HANDSFREE option of the BLUETOOTH LINK
5. Once identified, select the corresponding device
6. If necessary key in the pairing password (For e.g.: 1234) and select OK 7. When pairing in complete, the display screen of the phone will show the BLUETOOTH icon
8. To copy files and entries like a media object, datebook event or a phonebook entry, choose the object to be copied and press the Main menu soft key
9. MARK the object and then execute one of the following commands for the respective objects

For media objects, use COPY MARKED FILES
For phonebook entries, use SHARE PHONEBOOK ENTRY
For datebook events, use SEND

10. Then, select a paired device or continue with LOOK FOR DEVICES
11. Discontinue pairing by selecting DROP after highlighting the paired device
12. During a call, you can even switch to a Bluetooth headset or a car kit by pressing the Main menu soft key and selecting USE BLUETOOH
13. Once a device is paired, it is saved in DEVICE HISTORY and access levels can be edited using the EDIT option
