This phone is a chip apart from the V400 series. It is slimmer, attractive and affordable too. It is a small phone to fit into your pocket as it measures 3.3¡¨x 1.7¡¨x 0.9¡¨ and weighs 3.7 ounces.

The look and feel The Motorola V220 is a clamshell model and comes in silver and black with a smooth surface and rounded corners. The sturdy design makes it a pleasure to hold onto while you are talking.

The displays The external display is easy to read, though it is monochrome. The rectangular external screen shows the time, battery life, signal strength, and caller ID. And just below the screen is the camera lens. The main display is in the internal screen and is set in a mirrored frame and supports 65000 colors.

Messaging and other facilities Messaging is easy with the MotorolaV220. It comes with the standard messaging facilities like SMS and MMS. You also get a one-touch access to AOL messenger. The phone has animated menus and is easy to navigate.

The keypad in the Motorola v220 is very good. It is spacious, with bright backlit and is set flush with the surface of the phone.

It has a four-way toggle with an OK button in the middle of the toggle with two soft keys to activate the camera and the instant messaging.

Camera The Motorola V220 has an integrated VGA camera with brightness control, a 2X zoom, and a self-timer with a 5 or 10 second delay. It can take pictures in three resolutions - 640x480, 320x240, and 160x120. If you are one of those who like to experiment with photography, you can choose from 6 lighting effects, 6 color tones, and 5 exposure settings. It has a 1.8 MB of shared memory to save your pictures. You can also save your pictures as wallpaper, sent as multimedia messages, or assigned to contacts for caller ID.
