Design
The design is unique. And it is designed with the serious text-messaging user in mind. It measures 107x 47x 20 mm, which means that though it has a unique design it is not bulky.
Display and functions
The Nokia 6820 displays a 128 x 128 px 4096 color passive matrix display and comes with a STN screen unlike the TFT screen. As for the functions, it is easy to operate. When the phone is opened you get to message with the full QWERTY keypad and when it is not you can do the same with the normal phone. And as far as the messaging convenience goes the QWERTY keypad is more convenient than the normal one.
Messaging
It will not be an overstatement if one says that this phone is especially created for the compulsive text-messaging freaks. The Nokia 6820 supports SMS, EMS, and MMS facility. It also supports sending slides where you can create multiple pages of slides and add multimedia files to each page. You can also save distribution lists in the phone's memory containing a fixed number of people to whom you regularly send messages.
The inclusion of Wireless Village instant messaging provides you with an open connection with existing IM providers such as AOL, ICQ, Yahoo and MSN. And it also allows you to have private and public chat with separate search capabilities.
Camera
The lens of the camera is placed at the back of the phone in the Nokia 6820. You can capture CIF images at resolutions up to 352 x 288 pixels. You can shoot pictures in multiple shooting modes like Portrait Photo Mode, or Night Mode. You also have three quality settings. The pictures you capture using your camera can be transferred either through infrared, data cable or bluetooth.
