Sprint RED Motorazr V3m – Review:
This is a phone born out of a unique partnership between Motorola and Sprint to support the initiative called RED. It was started by Bono of U2 and Bobby Shriver to fight against AIDS which is rampant in Africa and has a special emphasis on children and women who are affected by the disease. The Motorola Razr v3 m cell phone is designed in a fiery red color and comes pre-loaded with RED wall papers so that everyone knows what the cause that the user has contributed to is.
Both the manufacturer, Motorola and the service provider, Sprint has agreed to contribute a percentage of all sales through this product for the above mentioned worthy cause. The phone will be a part of Sprint’s exclusive POWER VISION network along with the other Motorola models – MOTOKRZR and MOTOSLVR. This gives the user of the RED phone immediate access to more than 50 channels of live television feeds and video and audio which can be displayed on-demand. Also the other services which a Motorola Razr v3 m RED user can use are NFL Mobile which brings immediate access to Sports commentaries and highlights from across the country, Sprint Movies – the service to watch specific pay-per-view movies, Sprint Music Store and of course, Sprint Power View – the entertainment and Sports network.
Among all phones developed for CDMA networks, this Motorola Razr phone can be considered one of the thinnest and has all the sought features that the Motorazr family is proud of – a 1.3 Mega Pixel camera, Video capture, GPS-enabled, Speakerphone, Bluetooth technology and an expandable MicroSD card slot. 
This red Motorola Razr phone which is an instrument of AIDS charity is also compatible with the newly launched Studio RED. Studio Red is a set of virtual and real destinations created to allow users to actually experience the product. This sub-site keeps interested consumers updated on what happening on the RED project with regular updates of exclusive content like wallpapers, video casts and ring tones.
One of the distinct Sprint Phone is that the traditional Motorola menu is replaced by Sprint’s animated icon menu. This animated menu is turning into the standard and can be found in most Sprint handsets. The Motorola Razr v3m red Sprint cell phone comes with a 1000-entry phonebook. In each contact record, you have the capability to fill in details such as 5 phone numbers, photo, ring tones, email address and web addresses. The camera is a 1.3 Mega Pixel and the loaded features are variety of color effects, option of taking a picture in three different resolutions, brightness and contrast control, self-time and different shutter sounds.
Most of these effects are available for the 30-second camcorder option as well. The amount of photos and videos that can be stored on this phone will depend on the microSD card memory used. The included 64MB card can be upgraded based on the user’s requirements. An interesting deviation from the other Motorazrs is that the left button of the central navigation toggle is a dedicated speakerphone instead of the shutter control of the camera. And worth mentioning is the fact that the Sprint RED Motorazr soft key on the right mentions BACK instead of CLEAR as in other V3 phones, though they serve the same function.
The service plans of Sprint for this phone start from the ‘Power Pack 450’ which retails at $39.99 to ‘Power Pack 2000’ which retails at a monthly fee of $99.99. There are some specific incoming oriented plans like ‘Free Incoming 300’ starting at $49.99 to ‘Free Incoming 1000’ at $9.99. Also, there are several family packs like ‘Power pack Families 550’ and ‘Power pack Families ‘3000’ ranging from $59.99 to 149.99.
