Sprint PCS Phone Entertainment
Sprint PCS was one of the earliest carriers in the US to introduce a host of value-added services converging communication with information and entertainment. To pull this off, Sprint PCS had the able support of their high speed network Sprint Power Vision. The five options of sprint PCS entertainment on a multimedia compatible phone are: Sprint TV, Music, Games, Web and FanScan In-car audio.
Sprint TV
Sprint TV was the first of its kind that allowed sprint users to watch top quality audio and streaming video on phones supporting Sprint power vision. This service, a recipient of the Emmy awards, help customers select from 30 channels of superlative entertainment. Customers can choose from a wide variety of information and entertainment - right from news to movie trailers, from sports to entertainment channels. Some of the popular channels on this service are the NFL network, Fox Sports, CNN To Go, E!, ABC News Now and the Cartoon network. All this in addition to a streaming radio channel called SIRIUS.
Sprint Music Store
The Sprint music store is actually that! A virtual store from where you can shop for songs by purchasing and downloading them instantly on to your phone. It is possible to even preview some of the songs before you actually buy a full-length download. Music genres vary from Country and Rock to Hip-Hop and R&B. For the trivia hungry, there are always the star interviews and video clips of performances. All customers receive any song that they purchase in two formats - one for their Sprint Phone and the other for their PC.
FanScan In-car audio
Another exciting feature of the Sprint PCS entertainment is the Nextel FanScan in-car audio which lets you into the latest happenings from the NASCAR circuit including statistics, track and car conditions and can even hear the chief of the crew talking about the chances of his team in a race. Options of buying a FanScan are at $4.99 per race or a fixed monthly charge of $9.99.
A couple of other features which will interest any Sprint Cell Phone entertainment aficionado are the GAMES and WEB feature. In Games, there are hundreds of options to choose: from Action and Adventure to Card games, from puzzles to strategy games, from sports to racing games. All these games can be played alone or can be played while competing with others in any other part of the country in a real-time environment. There is also a virtual Game Lobby to meet and compare scores and statistics with other Sprint Power Vision customers. The WEB feature allows for high-speed browsing in the areas of entertainment as well as information and is used for a host of applications like news, weather, sports and search for any kind of information that one may require. The web feature also comes with restricted web access which may be used by parents to control the content their kids might be consuming on the mobile internet.
