Motorazr V3m with Verizon Wireless – Review:
The Motorazr V3m should be seen more as a model which is higher in design and functionality than most other Motorola Razr v3 phone models. It is more than a variation from the horizontal extensions of the brand like the V3c, V3i, etc. This is because the Motorola Razr V3m coming from the stables of Verizon Wireless has a host of features which are definitely superior to its family cousins. But of course, lately there have been many upgraded Motorola Razr v3 variants from other service provider stables too.
The phone’s features include a 1.3 Mega Pixel camera, Bluetooth technology, Stereo headsets which are now considered “standards” but what makes this Motorola Razr phone stand apart, and the reason why one should buy this Verizon phone, is that the Razr phone comes ready with the technology to experience Verizon’s popular streaming multimedia services like VCAST. VCAST music service and the On-Demand Television service at high speed connectivity.
Another important feature where the V3m is distinct from the V3c is the memory expansion capability so that users can now store a whole lot of the multimedia on the phone. You can browse through tons of music, previewing them and instantly downloading them.
The design is largely undeviating from the other Motorazr variants with the strong Aluminum body and the slim design (thickness ~ 14 mm) with a refined steel look providing the exclusivity in looks that the makers hoped to achieve. The V3m is primarily available in Silver and Black faceplate colors.
The main feature that the V3m can boast of is the presence of an MP3 player which forms a part of the GET IT NOW menu of Verizon “GET TUNES AND TONES”. Here music of both MP3 and AAC formats are supported. Since music and camera are high-priority item in a Motorola Razr v3, it is high time that the product development group at Motorola create a separate icon for each of the two functions instead of being a sub-menu. The music reproduction quality is of a high order (rather unsurprising for a Motorazr) and since this phone has a microSD card, so much more of songs and other multimedia contents can be stored.
The most interesting of service plans of the v3m with Verizon is the service called VZ navigator. In this plan, for a fee of $9.99 the user receives access to the GPS service of Verizon. The V3m also supports EV-DO and VCAST which gives the phone immediate access to Verizon’s entire library of content like music, ring tones, video clips and application downloads. VCAST MUSIC also helps a user download music from the Verizon website to the phone. The VCAST music service comes at a cost of $15 a month and each song that is downloaded from the VCAST music store comes at a cost of $1.99.
Verizon plans for this phone start at a modest $39.99 called ‘America’s choice 450’ and goes upwards to $199.99 with the plan ‘America’s Choice 6000’. The phone’s family plans start at $89.99 for America’s Choice Family Share Plan 1400 to ‘America’s Choice with Push-to-talk family share plan 6000 at $319.99. This is by far the best family plan on this phone and is valid for 2 years with upto 6000 free minutes a month. This plan also includes unlimited Mobile to Mobile and Walkie to Walkie minutes.
