No more Unlimited Data Plans and Only Shared Plans At Verizon
Starting June 28, 2012, Verizon will strictly offer plans for the family with its new Share Everything plans. Additionally, the unlimited data plan will no longer be offered for 4G at a monthly rate for current customers. Instead Verizon customers will have to sign up for shared data plan. Other top wireless providers are also following this trend since unlimited data plans put a strain on their limited resources.
With the Share Everything plan, you get unlimited calls and unlimited texts with 1GB of data usage. BY providing cheaper data rates for more devices under a shared plan, this move is aimed to increase tablet use over Verizon 4G network. Also, the mobile hotspot fee will no longer be applied.
The unlimited phone data plans offered in the past have been fading since last summer and it is a great burden for wireless carriers to provide a unlimited mobile data plan. Tablets are growing in use but the extra fees for separate data use has prevented many from adding data packages. With the Share Everything plans, you will be able to share data usage amongst 10 different devices.
